I have to be into work by...by... 9:00a. How is such a thing monitored? My boss tends to call at 9:01a to check in. So...if I had to be exact...I have to be into work by 9:01a. So, getting up in the morning to run at 5:30a is always awesome since I am usually out doing something until 11:00p (as was the case last night since I had a show). This means I tend to get about 6 hours of sleep a night...which blows. 6 hours is optimistic as well.
So I dragged myself out of bed this morning to run at 6:00a for about 25 minutes. The sun hadn't even come up yet. Whenever I'm out and about in the morning before the sun has come up, it's always a weird crowd out and about with me. Since I live near Laguardia, I always see people trying to make flights in the morning with so many suitcases. I see furniture movers...so many furniture movers. And then there are just your normal creepy Queens dudes. I mean...I don't even think I need more explanation. People are all too familiar with that idea of a creepy Queens dude.
This morning, I ran to Astoria Park , did a few laps around the park and then walked to where my car was parked to move it (as to avoid another parking ticket; see previous post). After parking it, there was this CQD looking at me and smoking what was probably a Newport, the Cig choice for most CQD's. As I waited for traffic to pass, CQD started walking toward me and so I picked up my iPod as though it was a phone and into the iPod started the conversation that follows:
"Hey Plarft....yeah?....No, I just went for a run....sure I'll bring back bagels....How many Onion?....I am not getting everything bagels....because they make you sick....We have cream cheese....ha...Okay Plarft......ha ha Plarft...Okay see you soon."
At that point, the light finally changed and I ran across the street and then home. To bring bagels to Plarft. I named my fictional person on the phone Plarft. Clearly I need to get more than 6 hours sleep.
